Alan Preston is one of NZ's most respected and well-known contemporary jewellers. This brooch was part of the Sovereignty series 1986. The image Commandos Marine is the badge of the DGSE to which the Rainbow Warrior bombers Dominique Prieur and Alain Mafart belonged. (see pg 119 of Between Tides by Alan Preston author Dr Damian Skinner).
