1927. [31]p. Loose leaves. Inscribed 'M/S / ムWILD OATSメ'. Includes typed preface entitled 'Envoy', two handwritten poems, and 28 typed poems. Preface dated 27 January 1927. 'Wild Oats, A Sheaf of Poems' was published by Potocki de Montalk in Easter 1927. Five poems signed by author. Titles: 'Until the End', 'The Unjust Judge [etc]', 'A Tone Poem, in the Manner of Flecker', 'Debts', 'To the Reverend H B J', 'The Poet to His House', 'Anger', 'Love's Arms Are Peace', 'Songs of the Blue Peter, II', 'My Book of Songs [etc]' (first line), 'To F H D, A Memory of Rocklands', 'Above Sumner', 'Answer', 'Songs of Useless Beauty, I, To Mamua', 'Songs of Useless Beauty, II, To Lilian', 'Songs of Useless Beauty, III, To Marion', 'Songs of Useless Beauty, No IV, Payment', 'Hierarchika', 'Holy and Lovely', 'Menelaus and Helen', 'Seeing You Are a Woman', 'To Constance', 'The Ring', 'Love and Lust', 'The Poet to His Overland Six [etc]', 'Wonder', 'Reward', 'To Miss Colebrook and People of that Ilk', 'Phoebus', and 'If She Could Only Truly Dream!' Several poems in the draft appear to have been omitted from or altered for the published collection (e.g. 'Answer' and 'Phoebus'). Significant artefact. G.
