With a strong selection of early consignments, we are now seeking further entries to Webb’s first sale of important paintings and contemporary art for 2012. Including a survey of contemporary painting, sculpture and photography, with works by Andrew McLeod, Fiona Pardington, Hye Rim Lee, Jude Rae, Ronnie van Hout, Peter Stichbury and Paul Dibble, alongside significant works by modernists such as Richard Killeen, Ralph Hotere, Philip Clairmont, Louise Henderson and Toss Woollaston, and historical works including a significant early portrait by Charles F. Goldie, this auction will present a fine selection of museum-quality works.
The auction market over 2011 was characterised by promising activity with a trend toward quality works in good order attracting the eyes of collectors. Numerous new record prices were set with results at Webb’s confirming a
