The Rainbow Warrior II will soon be retired so it is time to celebrate her work and introduce an amazing new eco-ship the Rainbow Warrior III, which Greenpeace are raising funds to build.

Come and join us in celebration of the legacy and future of the Rainbow Warrior.  Greenpeace are offering an entertaining evening including one of New Zealand’s greatest singer/songwriters providing entertainment and over 100 items up for auction including; art, sculpture, wine, holiday & leisure packages and much more.  To view the full list of items visit Rainbow Warrior III Fundraising Auction.

Also on view will be the Rainbow Warriors and Remainders exhibition, a collection of photographs by Gil Hanly and a selection of Greenpeace NZ memorabilia curated by Scott Pothan.

Rainbow Warriors and Remainders includes photographs taken by Gil Hanly of the arrival of the Rainbow Warrior into Auckland Harbour and the subsequent welcoming party on board with dignitaries; the bombing and its aftermath; and the images of the trials and public outrage at the time. Many of these images have not been seen publicly since 1985. A further suite of images shows the construction and dedication ceremony of the Rainbow Warrior Sculpture at Matauri Bay and many items salvaged from the Rainbow Warrior before she was laid to rest in the Pacific Ocean off Northland.
