Webb’s is pleased to offer a fascinating and eclectic array of pieces from the collections of Frances L. Ryman
(lots 599 – 653) and Jack Frowde (lots 654 – 730).

Frances Ryman began collecting at an early age. She ‘wagged’ school to attend her first auction – and was caught! Over the years she has collected antique guns, lighting systems, powder flasks, porcelain dolls, marine and colonial furniture, Pratt pot lids and much more. In her own words, “Should I ever feel the need to write a book it would have to be entitled ‘I am a Magpie’!.” A life-long fascination for history, archaeology, social and economic histories, in particular the plight of children during the last two and a half centuries, are reflected in her collection. Webb’s is delighted to present the collection of Frances L. Ryman, who has said, “I consider that if I do not learn something new every day I have wasted a day. I share with you my learning treasures of time”. more ...
