Presenter Chris Knox follows the action and the results are surprising, inspiring and epic. Filmed from West Auckland to Central Otago, this new series of New Artland involves the artworks of farmers, flying squads, orchestras, graffiti artists, schoolkids, tattooists, knitters, BMX riders, snowballs and Westies.
Towards the end of filming, Chris Knox had a stroke. Inspired to action, TVNZ 7 and FAT Productions have joined forces for a combined New Artland launch and art auction, with artworks donated by many artists from the series, alongside others.
Proceeds raised from the auction of artworks will be donated to The Stroke Foundation to provide art therapy and other stroke rehabilitation work to stroke patients throughout the country.
No Buyer’s Premium applies to this sale. Many works are unreserved.
A live auction will be held at 6pm on the 27th August at the Montecristo Room, 53 Nelson St, Auckland CBD. All works will be available for viewing at Webb's, 18 Manukau Rd, Newmarket from Tuesday 25 Aug.
The complete online catalogue will be launched on the 24th of August at www.webbs.co.nz. For those of you unable to attend the live event, an online bidding service will allow you to place absentee bids for all the wonderful art on offer.
