Bethunes at Webb's
When buying through Bethunes at Webb's, Webb's standard Terms and Conditions for buyers apply. Buyers at Bethunes at Webb's sales should, however, take special note of the following:
Buyer's premium
A buyer's premium of 17.5% + GST on the premium is payable in addition to the bid price.
Absentee and telephone bidding
If you cannot attend an auction, you can complete an Absentee and Telephone Bid Form and fax the completed form to +64 9 524 7048. For absentee bids, Webb's will execute your bid/s and attempt to purchase the lot/s for you at the lowest price, allowing for other bids and reserves. For telephone bids, we will contact you during the sale, and a saleroom representative will bid live with you over the phone. All bid amounts do not include the buyer's premium and GST.
No guarantees can be given that bids received on the day of auction will be processed.
Bidding increments are at the auctioneer's discretion
Bidding will commence at a bidding increment over the second highest absentee/postal bid received prior to the commencement of the auction. Where no bids have been received bidding will commence at half the auctioneer's lot estimate, or at $40, whichever is the higher, at the auctioneer's sole discretion.
Payment
Payment for items purchased at auction is due on the day of the sale, immediately following its completion. If full payment cannot be made on the day of the sale, a deposit of 10% of the total sum due must be made on the day of the sale and the balance must be paid within 5 working days. Where payment is made by cash, eftpos or bank cheque, delivery of the goods can be taken immediately. Be aware, however, that banks usually place a limit on eftpos transactions to protect you from fraud or withdrawal under duress, so your transaction may fail if it exceeds that limit. A transaction failure due to exceeding the bank limit is not a reflection of your creditworthiness.
We also accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, and Amex (subject to certain restrictions).
Payment by Direct Fund Transfer (internet banking) is also accepted. The duration required for funds to clear to our account is one working day after the date of transfer.
Payment is also accepted by personal cheque. Please be aware that clearance of personal cheques takes five working days.
Packing and Freight
Bethunes at Webb's will pack goods in-house, if required, for posting nationally or internationally. All costs associated with packing and freight are payable by the purchaser. All dispatches will be by Courier Post within New Zealand (economy courier to the South Island) and by international airmail outside New Zealand. Insurance in transit is not covered by Bethunes at Webb's.
