A suite of sales to conclude the year sees Webb’s present important works of art, fine jewellery, antiques and modern design over 6 to 8 December. Our dedicated team of specialists and support staff and our distinct approach to marketing have resulted in numerous record prices being achieved this year and a total in excess of $1.7 million for our previous sale held in August. These successes confirm Webb’s leadership position in the New Zealand art market. Further entries are currently invited to be offered alongside a significant selection of works already consigned. These concluding sales for the year are traditionally strongly supported by the market and present the final opportunity in 2011 to offer artworks, jewels and collectable design. Enquiries about current values and market dynamics are welcomed.

The December jewellery sale will feature a fine array of antique and modern jewellery, together with desirable wrist and pocket-watches. The 2.00pm affordable jewellery section will include the usual popular selection of estate and modern pieces.

Webb’s antiques and modern design auctions present select interior furnishings and decorative objects. Strong sales results are achieved through the targeted marketing activity of our team of specialists and quality presentation of material. The December sale is popular with collectors and traditionally presents an extensive and superior offering. Early consignments to the auction include 18th and 19th-century English furniture, French country and industrial furniture, European and Chinese porcelain, Georgian sterling silver, ceramics, lighting and furnishings, taxidermy, George Nelson and Eero Saarinen chairs, and vintage and retro décor. Webb’s antique specialists provide a national appraisal and sale service, and professionally market large privately owned, estate and museum collections.
