An informal discussion will be held on Sunday May 10th at 1pm. James McCarthy, director of Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts and Nicole Stock editor of Urbis will discuss key pieces in the Contemporary Art/Design sale.
James McCarthy is the current Director of Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts in Manukau City. Past lives include contemporary dance, performance, scratch musician, and furniture designer, as well as holding a variety of professional roles in the art world. A practicing artist he has exhibited and performed most recently at the Govett Brewster Art gallery, the Gus Fisher and is a current member of Vitamin S improvisation collective.
Nicole Stock is the Editor of Urbis, a trained architect, whose interests moved towards publishing and writing. While her interest naturally skews towards architecture, she has always been interested in product and furniture design. With her role at Urbis, she has been able to develop her knowledge of furniture design further, as well as develop an interest in art, car design, technology and graphic design whichare all covered in the magazine.
