Webb's to Sell Crump and Baxter Manuscript Materials

On Sunday 21 March, a typed manuscript by Barry Crump and a handwritten poem by James K Baxter will go under the hammer at Webb's. Manuscript materials by these hugely popular and important New Zealand writers are not common.

The Crump piece, entitled 'Quin's Rock', is an early version of the novel 'Gold and Greenstone', which was published by Barry Crump Associates in 1993. The Baxter piece is the uncollected 'Poem at the Vernal Equinox', published under a variant title in the little known magazine 'Viewpoint' in 1957.
