Webb’s is honoured to have been invited by the McCahon House Trust to be the major sponsor of ‘Luna Reflection Transmission Technique’ by Taro Shinoda, one of Japan’s leading contemporary artists and the first international artist in residence at McCahon House.

Luna Reflection Transmission Technique has been presented at biennales around the world and we are very proud to be supporting this presentation as part of the of Auckland Art Fair.

The work is a testament to Shinoda’s love for his mother. While living apart during his childhood, he would entrust messages to the moon to be carried across to her on the other side of the world.

This video performance was gathered over 10 years and features a full moon rising across 12 city skylines, including the magnificent orange super moon which travelled across the Auckland skyline during Shinoda’s time at McCahon House.

Luna Reflection Transmission Technique by Taro Shinoda will be presented with musical accompaniment from celebrated French composer Uriel Barthélémi.
