Officially known as the Dynasty ES-555, this rare and iconic boombox was manufactured by Hong Kong-based brand Skitronic and became a cult classic almost overnight. Nicknamed the ‘Disco Lite’ for obvious reasons, its vibrant, sound-responsive LED light show turns any space into a dance floor. The glowing lights pulse in time with the music, embodying the flashy optimism and sonic energy of the 1980s.

This piece isn’t just for show—it packs serious functionality for its time, with dual cassette decks, an AM/FM/SW radio tuner, and a full 7-band equaliser. The combination of its eye-catching visual design and rich audio capability made it a favourite among music video directors and pop icons. It appeared in two of Madonna’s most memorable videos, Hung Up and Sorry, and more recently in visuals for Lady Gaga, cementing its place in pop culture history.

Highly sought after by collectors, the Disco Lite is now considered one of the most distinctive and collectable boomboxes ever produced. Its futuristic-meets-retro aesthetic, combined with its rarity, makes it a standout find in today’s vintage tech scene.
