Bidding is officially open on The Cellar of the Auckland Wine Club; the much-anticipated single owner online auction presented by Webb’s Fine Wines & Whiskies department.

Carefully curated by the club’s Cellar Master, John Bergin, this offering represents the kind of cellar every wine lover aspires to build.

Taking place from 5—10 June, this online auction celebrates a cellar shaped by years of thoughtful collecting, deep knowledge, and genuine passion for wine.

The Auckland Wine Club was established in the mid-1980s by John and a group of like-minded enthusiasts, united by a shared ambition: to access wines at their ideal moment of maturity. As the Club now reaches the end of its journey, this remarkable cellar is being offered in its entirety at Webb’s, where its legacy will continue with those who share the same love and interest in great wine.

The auction features nearly 900 bottles that have been cellared in purpose-built temperature-controlled conditions.

It includes classic European regions alongside South African, North and South American and New Zealand bottles seldom encountered together at auction. Estimates span accessible entry points through to highly collectable mature bottles.

Highlights include a wide variety of Port, René Rostaing Côte-Rôtie, Royal Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos, two bottles each of 2001 Château Latour and 2006 Château Haut-Brion, and a single bottle of Luciano Sandrone's 2004 Cannubi Boschis Barolo DOCG; each representing benchmark producers at the height of their respective appellations.
