The demand for fine wines and rare whiskies has increased substantially in the last six years. This is illustrated by our recent sale of a signed assortment case of 1992 Domaine de la Romanee-Conti which achieved the price of $31,668, well exceeding expectations. Another recent highlight saw the sale of an exceptional bottle of 50-year-old Macallan that realised a total of $155,000.
Webb’s offers independent and professional advice on buying and selling wine. We hold up to 18 Fine Wines & Whiskies auctions each year in four categories: Live, Online, Single Owner and Buy Now. As well as offering Private Sales outside of auction through our Webb’s Wine Exchange.
For our consignors, we will maximise the value of your wines and whiskies. Once consigned, we can ship your wine to our temperature-controlled cellar where we offer complimentary storage until it is sold.

Marcus is a highly experienced and widely respected Fine Wines & Whiskies expert, auctioneer and educator. He has 25 years of experience in the specialist wine trades of Britain, France, Australia and New Zealand. Marcus has held previous appointments managing fine wine departments for Oddbins, Threshers and Sainsbury’s in London & Europe.
Marcus joined Webb’s after 13 years in a direct-to-consumer winery consultancy and liaison merchant in Australia. He established their New Zealand division in 2008, moving to Aotearoa in 2011 as NZ Director.Marcus has also previously served as a sommelier at ‘Le Pont de la Tour’; a UK fine-dining institution with viticultural and winemaking experience of the 2000 vintage in Bordeaux and Jurançon. Marcus holds an Applied Biology BSc (Hons) from Nottingham University and holds a Diploma in Wines and Spirits (AIWS) with the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET).

Marshell is highly specialised in the Asian wine trading market. He brings his experience as a buyer in Bordeaux, France to the Webb’s team in his role as Fine and Rare Wines Specialist. His key focus is on generations X, Y, and Z in the Chinese wine auction market.Marshell holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from the University of Exeter, and an MSc in Wine Management from the Burgundy Business school in Dijon. He is proficient in Burgundy and Bordeaux wines, has attained a Level 3 Wine and Spirit Education Trust Certificate, and has Level 4 certification well within reach.
Marshell ran his own wine trading business while studying, and accumulated a number of clients in the Asian and Europe region. In the process, he honed his industry research and analysis skills. This knowledge has led to proven sales results.
Early 2020 marked Marshell’s return to New Zealand from France. With Webb’s, he is taking his knowledge of the world of wine to new heights. He is dedicated to providing exemplary service, ensuring that vendors and buyers have excellent auction experiences.
Finn McCabe

Finn is a Fine Wines & Whiskies specialist with a background that spans winemaking, academia, and international business. He began his career at Davenport Vineyards, the UK’s first organic winery, before completing studies in international business in Wellington and Milan. Finn holds a master’s in viticulture and oenology from Lincoln University and the WSET Level 3 qualification.At Webb’s, Finn focuses on sourcing and curating mature wines ready to be enjoyed. He sees auctions as a way to connect collectors with bottles at their peak, offering exceptional drinking experiences across New Zealand and beyond.
