“This catalogue brings together refined, rare, remarkable, and collectable jewellery pieces, alongside the ultimate in luxury accessories and sought-after complications in timepieces. It once again reflects the strength of our consignors, the refinement in the New Zealand market, and the trust placed in Webb’s to present them to auction.”

In the jewellery category, we are honoured to offer sumptuous pink diamonds, alongside jewellery pieces of significance that have been acquired through careful planning and significant time. In this category, I must highlight an exemplary and extremely important platinum 16.89ct diamond tennis bracelet, all GIA certified, from a curated collection years in the making. The vendor spent many hours sourcing and assembling the exact gradings of these diamonds to excellent cut, polish, and symmetry, with nil fluorescence. Cliff Tait | The Rolex That Flew Around the World

We would also like to pay tribute to NZ aviator Cliff Tait—a pioneer who sadly passed away during the production of this catalogue. We are extremely humbled and honoured to represent the Rolex GMT Master presented to him by the watchmakers in 1969, prior to embarking on a daring solo flight around the world in a single-engine AESL Airtourer 115, affectionately named ‘Miss Jacy’. For 80 days and over 30,000 miles, Tait faced long stretches over vast oceans, unpredictable weather, and the isolation of a solo pilot navigating remote skies. Every instrument mattered, and one companion proved indispensable: his Rolex GMT Master 1675, personally engraved “BEST WISHES FROM ROLEX WATCH CO. CLIFF TAIT 3-5-69.” This piece of New Zealand aviation history is up for auction with estimates of between $20,000—$25,000.
