Webb’s has stood at the forefront of the market for all things classic motoring for decades, and has done so offering cars and motorcycles alike.
In the last three years alone we have sold 56 motorcycles for a total just under $1,000,000, and this was achieved thanks to an astounding sell-through rate of 88% – a truly first class mark.
Many of our longtime clients will be familiar with our classic, smaller and rectangular motorcycle catalogues from the turn of the 2010s, and while we’ve never lost our flair for the art, we know that these dedicated offerings have been missed not only by our clients but by the wider market as well.

Mid to late-century British and Japanese models are especially desirable, alongside pre-war American classics that embody robust engineering and historical significance.

We are here to assist you through the auction process and welcome enquiries about your vehicle. The market for collector’s cars has undoubtedly been subject to broader market changes in recent years, however Webb’s has continued to achieve stellar results during this period.
Webb’s has been instrumental in the development of the New Zealand auction market for luxury collectible vehicles. The success of our auctions is evident in recent highlights, including a 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG Cabriolet which realised a price of $535,000, a 1993 Porsche 964 3.6 Turbo achieving $462,000, and a 1957 Aston Martin DB2/4 MkII, which realised $418,000.

With a Bachelor's degree in History and Criminology from Victoria University, complemented by his tenure at New Zealand Archives, Chris brings a robust foundation of academic rigour, practical experience, and understanding of heritage to his role at Webb's.

Ian Nott

Ian Nott's four-decade journey in the classic car realm spans many countries and car brands. Born into the automotive world — with his father working at Wellington's Ford dealer, Avery Motors — Ian's childhood was steeped in car culture, fostering a lifelong passion. His diverse career as a sales rep introduced him to an array of vehicles, culminating in a pivotal moment when he acquired a Porsche 911 in the early '80s.As a former president of the Porsche Club of NZ and an avid racer, Ian has contributed to numerous charitable endeavours, including Drive for Kids, where he and other club members raised substantial funds for children with cancer. He has owned and worked with car brands including Ford, BMW, Holden, Hillman, Nissan, Mazda, Porsche, Audi, Mini and more.
Ian's expertise — further honed through restoring vehicles and racing Porsches for over two decades — is invaluable in his role at Webb's, where he's been a pivotal figure since 2017. His consultative role involves catalogue writing, client interactions, valuing cars for clients and attending the previews and events — where his wealth of knowledge enriches the auction experience. Ian's optimistic outlook and unwavering dedication to the automotive industry make him an invaluable asset to Webb's and the wider community of enthusiasts.
