About the Exhibition

For How Long…Turi Park’s selling exhibition at Webb's Wellington marks a compelling return to painting, presenting a deeply reflective body of work that explores landscape, memory, and inherited histories. The exhibition brings together traditional canvases alongside an ambitious installation of thirteen paintings on reclaimed blinds.

These works draw on both personal and national narratives, inviting viewers to reconsider how familiar environments in Aotearoa are seen, framed, and understood. Park’s use of repurposed materials—such as oilskin, fabric, and vintage blinds—adds a layered material history, reinforcing themes of provisional belonging and the complexity of place.

The experience extends beyond the visual: A Box of Hammers is a specially commissioned musical response by Wellington musicians John Kingston and Stephen Gallagher (Emmy award winning composer/musician) and will supplement the exhibition at a special event, offering an atmospheric, immersive soundscape that echoes the artwork's reflective tone.

Webb's Wellington Gallery offers an exciting calendar of selling exhibitions, complementary to the touring auction previews. These exhibitions allow collectors to purchase the works on display immediately online and in-person, making them a perfect opportunity for art enthusiasts to invest in unique pieces created by established and emerging artists.
